Gillette farms was started by Gilles and Lorette Patenaude. Gilles bought the farm from his father and while he was busy with his career as a dentist he had his four sons (Marc, Louis, Vincent and Mathieu) run the farm. Today there all partners in the farm which currently as 11 employees and 2 herdsman.

Gillette farms as been through 3 fires in the course of its life, the last one in 94 devastated everything except a couple of cows. One of them was Gillette Blackstar Christiane which was cow of the year back in 2000. From that fire we then built the actual showbarn which houses 120 cows. In this barn is where we calve everything and have our elite cows. In 96 we then purchased the retiring farmer across the road where we built our freestall with a double 12 parlour and milk 350 cows.

Gillette farms currently owns 900 acrres and rent 200. We grow corn and alfalfa and we have to buy all our straw and hay.
